As you can see, common 5-LED rear lights emit very little light - they're OK at night,
but useless during the day. Narrow superflash lights with a lens, which are currently popular,
produce a stronger but very narrow beam. They're unnecessarily bright at night,
particularly for group riding, and offer no improvement in your visibility from
any other angle. Both require regular replacement of batteries, becoming dimmer
as they're used up, and usually attach to your bike with fragile plastic clips.
